THIS IS YOUR LAST CALL for the driver’s ed course that begins in March.  You must be signed up with Mrs. McCracken by January 31st

 

There will be a Student Council meeting today during Period X in the library. We will be finalizing Winter Weekend ideas and choosing Spirit Week themes. Come to meeting prepared.

 

Calling all NHS members! If you would like to earn some service hours Sports Booster's needs some help in basketball concession stand. Come see the sign-up sheet outside Mrs. Kosinski's room (Rm 236) for dates or send her a Teams message.

 

Attention students in 7th thru 12th Grade….Are you passionate about video games?  Have you ever thought about being a member of an Esports team?  Join us Tuesday, January 31st, as we tour the brand new Esports arena on the JCC Cattaraugus campus.  Stop by the main office to sign-up.  Permission slips are due no later than Friday, January 27th.

 

If you would like to see Avatar at the AMC this Wednesday, please come see Mr. Steighner to sign up and get a permission slip. This is open to anyone in 7-12th grade. Avatar, - If you already signed up – make sure you picked up a permission slip from Mr. Steighner and return it tomorrow.  

 

7-12th graders have the opportunity to go tubing at Holiday Valley on Saturday, February 4th.  Permissions slips are outside Mrs. Morella’s room, 201.  Spots are limited, so return your permission slip to reserve your spot!

This is the Week !...the circus will be here on Saturday January 28th at 6:30 in the High School Gym.  If you are 13 years old or older you will need to purchase a ticket.  Get your pre-sale tickets now, don’t wait!  The price increases the night of the show. Stop by the high school office and get your ticket from Mrs. Baker for only $15!!!  Children 12 and under are FREE with a paid adult!!

The boys powderpuff volleyball game sign ups are out in everyone's hall ways. Seniors are by the senior lounge. Sign up as soon as you can, as the  game is Feb 1st starting @5 with the freshman and sophomore, and everyone follows.

 

The Winter Weekend theme this year is “MASQUERADE BALL”.  The dance will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 8 to 11PM.  Presale tickets will be sold until Thursday the 2nd.  Cost is $12 per person and can be purchased from Mrs. Welty.  Prices will increase to $15 per person if bought at the door.  This is a semi-formal dance so proper attire is required….NO JEANS and NO HATS.

 

On Thursday during the pep rally the Winter Weekend Court will be announced. Those students will be recognized at half-time of the Varsity Boys Basketball game versus Randolph the same night.  There, the 2023 King & Queen will be revealed.

 

Some important notes regarding Winter Weekend:

#1:  If you are on the Academic Ineligibility list and have not been attending Study Center, you will not be permitted to attend the dance. 

#2:  If you intend on bringing someone from a different school, you must get a permission slip from the office for them to sign and return it to Mrs. Welty before Friday the 3rd.

#3:  If you would like to bring a student that has already graduated high school, they must be a graduate of PCS.

Reminder to all students and Teachers and Staff: We only have a few people that have donated to the box in the office.   If you can, please bring in dog and cat items as specified on the SPCA flyer by end of next week. Thank you PCS for helping furry friends in need!

 

Congratulations to the indoor track athletes that competed in Houghton over the weekend. Jenna Wyant placed 2nd in the 300 meter dash, and was a part of both of the winning  4x200 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. Julia Wyant was also a part of both relays. Keep up the hardwork!

 

"The Jv boys basketball team beat silver creek last Wednesday night 53-48. Chase Armstrong had 22 points and 15 rebounds in his first game back and Braedon Carter added 14 points. The JV then dropped an overtime heartbreaker to Frewsburg Friday night 55-46. Chase Armstrong and Ryan Loncher had 19 and 10 points and DJ Fowler recorded a season high 6 blocks. They return to play tonight at home against Franklinville."

 

Come out and support the Boys Basketball teams as they take on Franklinville tonight.  JV is set to start at 6PM with the Varsity to follow.  The theme for the evening is “America!  Wear red, white, and blue!”
