Good Morning Portville Panthers!

Drama Club members are expected to meet TOMORROW, December 6th after school in Mrs. Maxson's room 120. It should last about an hour for those who will need to get on the late bus !

 

Attention Freshman Class – Your Coffee Fundraiser Orders and Money are due today.  Please take it to Mrs. Kosinski or Mrs. Burke. 

 

There will be a Student Council meeting on Thursday during Period X in the library.  If you haven’t brought in your bag of candy, you need to bring it with you that day.  Also, don’t forget about making your gift purchases as soon as you can and bringing them into Mrs. Welty’s room.  They are due by Wednesday the 7th.

 

If any student is interested in learning how to make a Stained Glass Suncatcher or Ornament, please see Mrs. Welty.  She will be taking groups of ten students to a Workshop in Olean on Monday, December 12th and on Tuesday, December 20th.  She has permission slips in her room.  The FIRST ten to bring the signed slip for each date will be the ones who get to attend.  There is a flyer hanging outside her room with more details or feel free to ask Mrs. Welty if you have any other questions.

 

 The holidays are coming! Are you having trouble with gift ideas? Make Christmas ornaments with Mr. McInnis and Mr. Suain in Portville's own Envisioneering Center—the two-day, after-school workshop will be offered on Tuesday. 12/13, and Thursday, 12/15, and is limited to 16 students!  Sign up today outside of the Envisioneering Center! 

 

 Ice skating is a ton of fun whether you can skate or not!   Grab a friend or two and sign up outside Miss Giardini's room to go ice skating after school on Thursday, December 8th, from 3:00-5:15PM.  You'll need to return a signed permission slip to attend! Don't delay-sign up today!

 

Interested in knowing your way around the weight room? Hoping to work on some strength and fitness goals? Come beat the winter blahs with us on Dec. 7 from 2:45 to 3:45 in the fitness center. Open to any students grade 8-12. We need a minimum of 6 kids, so be sure to sign up outside the fitness center.

 

Calling all animal lovers:    On Saturday, December 17th,, from noon-2pm, PCS is offering a SPCA shelter visit for any student, in grades 7-12.  The bus will depart at 11:45 and return by 2:15.  The signup sheet is located outside of Ms. Judy Maxson’s room #202.   In order to reserve a spot, you will need to sign up and return the SPCA volunteer waiver form.  This waiver is also located outside of Ms. Maxson’s room.  There are only 20 spots available, so hurry up and get that waiver signed!

 

 The Lady Panthers were crowned Champions of the ACE Tournament this weekend and start the season, 2 and 0, with victories over Cuba-Rushford and Pioneer.  Leading the way was Junior Center Lilly Bentley who was named Most Valuable Player after recording 39 points, 23 rebounds, and 4 blocks.  Fellow Junior Avery DeFazio was selected to the All-Tournament team after being the spark the Lady Panthers needed to get the championship win.  She scored 12 points in the tourney and provided hustle.  Junior Jackie Scanlon had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Captain Teagan Kosinski had a solid two games by pulling down 11 rebounds, ripping away 5 steals, and dishing out 7 assists.  As a reminder to the team, you have lifting today after school at 2:30PM.
