Attention students in grades 9-12.  Are you interested in being a class officer this year? If so, stop by the main office and grab a class officer application. Completed applications need be returned to the main office by the end of the school day on Wednesday, September 14th.

 

There will be STUDENT COUNCIL meeting on TUESDAY the 13th in Mrs. Welty’s room during Period X. Students in grades 8th through 11th who were members last year should be in attendance.  The main topic of the meeting will be Homecoming 2022.  Please come to the meeting with ideas!

 

Art Society's first meeting will be Thursday, September 15th in room 103.  Please see Ms. Burdick if you have any questions.

 

The first Drama Club meeting for the year will be Tuesday, September 13 after school in the Auditorium. Drama Club is open to all students grades 7-12. We have an exciting year planned with a field trip to a Broadway show, the fall play, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the spring musical, Disney’s Frozen. Whether you’d like to act or be part of the backstage crew, we have a place for you!

 

Attention all current 8-11th graders, you are eligible to travel on the International Club trip to Costa Rica in 2024.  If you are interested, send Ms. Nolder a message on teams and stay tuned for future updates.

 

Modified volleyball will have their first practice on Monday right after school in the south gym.  Please report there immediately after school.  If you have not signed up outside of Mrs. Bantelman's room or with Coach Decker you must see Mrs. Bantelman sometime today.

 

The JV volleyball team defeated Dunkirk last night 25-14, 25-12 & 25-13,

Maddy Baldwin led the team with 6 aces and 2 kills while Bella George followed with 5 aces. Laney Vincent led the team with 5 kills, 1 ace, Maddy Ford added 4 kills, 3 aces and Ana Haynes with 3 aces and 2 kills. Marissa Carls led the offense with 6 assists and 1 ace. The JV Volleyball team is now 2 & 0 and will travel to Allegany-Limestone on Tuesday. 

 

The varsity volleyball team defeated Dunkirk in 3 sets last evening.  25-12, 25-9, 25-6.   Ava Haynes led the team with 9 kills, 9 digs.  Tori Unverdorben added 8 kills, 4 digs, Lillian Bentley 6 aces, 4 Kills, 4 digs.  Jillian Stebbins 23 assists, 8 aces and Mia Rhinehart 8 aces, 5 digs, The Panthers are now 2 & 0 and will head to  the St. Mary’s of Lancaster tournament on Saturday.

 

The modified girls soccer team had a tough loss last night to Ellicottville, though the Panthers held the game close until the last couple of minutes. Peyton Rodgers scored the lone goal and Sophia Miller dominated as goalie against the Eagles. The girls next game is home next Tuesday against Franklinville. 

 

Last night the varsity girls soccer team defeated Ellicottville 3-2. Down 1 to 0 at half, the Panthers scored three second half goals to win. Grace Gariepy scored twice and assisted Meghan Lyle's goal. Minion winner Mackenzie Harmon was awesome in goal, recording 8 saves, and fought through a bloody nose on a breakaway save. Teagan Kosinski recorded one save in goal. Portville hosts Franklinville Tuesday.

 

Another reminder from Mr. Welty and Mr. Brooks ….All students are expected to dress appropriately for school and school functions. Recognize that extremely brief and/or tight fitting garments such as mini skirts, short shorts, tube, net, crop tops, and halter tops, bra/thin-strapped tops, see-through garments, garments which expose bare midriffs, plunging necklines, or excessively dropped pants are not appropriate and not permissible; Shorts must cover at least half of a student’s thigh.  Check out your Code of Conduct for more detailed information.
