If you haven’t bought your Prom ticket yet, the last day to purchase is Monday.  Tickets need to be bought by noon so we can get our head-count into the Bartlett.  Once again, Monday is the FINAL day to buy a Prom ticket.  Also,  unfortunately Mrs. Welty is not in the building today so no tickets will be be sold .

Last night the varsity baseball team closed out a 17 and 1 regular season with a 12 to 8 win at Salamanca. Maxwell Yehl continued his dominance this season, striking out 6 in 2 innings and ripping 3 hits, 2 doubles, and 4 RBIs. Luke Petryszak had 2 hits including a double, Dakota Mascho stole 2 bases, and POG Luke Petruzzi stole 2 bases and came in to put out the fire in the 7th. With the win, Portville ends the regular season with the most wins and runs scored in Section 6, and has earned the #1 seed for playoffs starting Tuesday at home.

Portville Softball improves to 17-1 and advances to the Section VI Class C Semifinals defeating Wilson 6-4 on Senior night! Senior pitcher Mallory Welty delivers her 100th strikeout this season tossing 6 strikeouts, 2 walks, and scattering 8 hits. The Lady Panthers led 3-1 through 4 innings and in the top of the 5th Wilson tallied 3 runs taking the lead 4-3. Solid production from the bottom of the order by way of a Sam Steadman RBI double, followed by a Peyton Young RBI sac bunt, and a Lizzie Chapman RBI would allow PCS to take the lead and not look back! Which is why all three received last nights “Queens of the Plate.” While Sam Steadman Also received the “Golden Glove” for her stellar play in the outfield as well. Portville Softball would like to sincerely thank Seniors Codi Hatch, Mia Welty, Mallory Welty, Caleigh Zollinger, and Lizzie Chapman for their contributions to the program. You have always represented PCS with pride and integrity on and off the field and will be sorely missed. Come watch as PCS takes on the winner of Gowanda/Chautauqua Lake Wednesday May 25th in the semi’s. Game time is 5:00pm. GO PANTHERS!
