 Congratulations go out to Harley Hathaway for placing 2nd at State for Collision Repair Technology for Skills USA, New York!

The Envisioneering Center is hosting an open house tonight to the community between 5:30 to 8:00 pm.  Spread the news to your parents to come and explore this STEM based open access center. 

 Reminder to 8th graders – Tonight is the PARENT MEETING for the Washington DC Close-Up Trip.  It will be held in the Auditorium at 6:00 PM.

 Prom Committee meeting during Period X in Mrs. Welty's room on Wednesday.

 Reminder to all juniors: your chicken BBQ tickets and money are due to Mrs. Pascucci this Friday, May 6 by the end of the day. 

There will be a Drama Club meeting tomorrow in Mrs. Maxson’s room 120. This meeting will be covering many things including the upcoming Theatre Banquet, summer theatre camp, and next year’s show season. Please make every effort to attend!

The Buffalo Museum of Science is one of the coolest interactive science museums in Western NY, and we're heading there on Saturday, May 14th, for some interesting, engaging, hands-on fun AND lunch is provided!!   Please see Mr. Mitchell for more details and to sign up. 

 

Beginning Wednesday, May 18th Miss Burdick and Mrs. Maxson will be holding puppetry workshops. The four workshops will help you design and create a one of a kind puppet, write a skit and actually perform a puppet show. The workshops are limited to only 15 students. If you’d like to participate, please sign up outside Mrs. Maxson’s room 120!

 

Reminder Seniors…….please pick up an Ecology Camp Counselor application from Mrs. Baker in the office if you are interested.  It needs to be completed and returned to the main office by May 6th.   

 

Students in grades 9-12 have an opportunity to go to the Buffalo Bison’s Game on Sunday, May 22nd.  If interested in going – please sign up outside Mr. Matz classroom #205.  We need a head count by May 3rd – so don’t delay – sign up today!

 

Congratulations to both the boys and girls varsity track teams on their wins against Salamanca last evening. The following athletes were top finishers: Ryan Loncher, Kyle North, Kaedon Holcomb, Michael Fahnestock, Simon Szymanski, Drake Kavanagh, Riley Horsley, Ben Isaman, Chris Austin, Bryan Randolph, Kent Little, Parker Dornan, Aryanna Hatch, Jenna Wyant, Jessica Daley, Olivia Dean, Sam Bray, Hailey Edwards, Natalie Maurer, Ava Haynes, Natalie Isaman, Julia Wyant, Zya DeGolier, Megan Pagett, Emma Rhinehart. Come support the team as they compete against Gowanda, home at 5 on Thursday! 

 

Portville Varsity Softball improves to 9-0 defeating Salamanca 20-4 on the road last night. Mallory Welty picked up the win on the mound tossing 7 strikeouts, 2 walks, and allowing 9 hits. Tonight’s “Golden Glove” goes to Mia Welty who saw plenty of action at first base and made some nice plays. Tonight’s “Queen of the Plate” was Sam Steadman who went 2 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s. Helping out offensively for PCS was Mia Welty who went 4 for 6 with a double, 2 RBI’s, and 3 runs, while Lizzie Chapman (1 run, 2 RBI’s) & Alisha Dickerson (1 run, 1 RBI) each went 2 for 3 as well. Portville hosts Franklinville on Wednesday game time is 4:30pm. GO PANTHERS!!

 

Last night the varsity baseball team got back on the winning train, improving to 9 and 1 with a 15 to 5 win in 5 innings against Randolph. Nate Petryszak prospered on the mound, getting the dub and the POG. Maxwell Yehl was 4 for 4 with a double, 4 runs, 4 RBIs, and 4 stolen bases, Hayden Emley hit 2 doubles, Luke Petruzzi had 2 hits and 3 stolen bases, Drew Langdon drove in 2 runs, Michael Cole scored four runs and stole four bases, and Dakota Mascho walked it off in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single. Special shout out to our maintenance crew for their tireless work on the field to get it game-ready. Portville hosts Franklinville on Thursday.
