There is going to be a Prom Committee Meeting TODAY during Period X in Mrs. Welty’s room for any Juniors & Seniors interested in helping out.
The junior class will have a meeting during period x today in the HS Cafeteria. We will be discussing the Open House Chicken BBQ and get tickets to sell.
There will be a Drama Club meeting on Wednesday, May 11 in Mrs. Maxson’s room 120. This meeting will be covering many things including the upcoming Theatre Banquet, summer theatre camp, and next year’s show season. Please make every effort to attend! OK…….Shh………….Holy Halo! The Buffalo Museum of Science is one of the coolest interactive science museums in Western NY, and we're heading there on Saturday, May 14th, for some interesting, engaging, hands-on fun AND lunch is provided!! Please see Mr. Mitchell for more details and to sign up.
If you love to create things and have ever wanted to explore the world of puppetry, we have an after school activity for you! Beginning Wednesday, May 18th Miss Burdick and Mrs. Maxson will be holding puppetry workshops. The four workshops will help you design and create a one of a kind puppet, write a skit and actually perform a puppet show. The workshops are limited to only 15 students. If you’d like to participate, please sign up outside Mrs. Maxson’s room 120!
Reminder Seniors…It is Ecology Camp time! If you would like to work with 6th grade kiddos and be outside to do all kinds of fun activities, please pick up an application from Mrs. Baker in the office. It needs to be completed and returned to the main office by May 6th. We are looking for 4 boys, 4 girls, and some extra seniors to help in the kitchen.
Students in grades 9-12 have an opportunity to go to the Buffalo Bison’s Game on Sunday, May 22nd. If interested in going – please sign up outside Mr. Matz classroom #205. We need a head count by May 3rd – so don’t delay – sign up today!
The Portville Varsity Softball team improved to 6-0 this last night defeating Ellicottville 12-8 in the Panther Pit. Mallory Welty was the winning pitcher tossing 8 strikeouts, 2 walks, and scattering 10 hits. The golden glove went to Peyton Young for her solid play in the field. Teagan Kosinski was the ”Queen of the Plate” going 3 for 4, with a double, and 4 runs. Adding to the offensive attack was Mallory Welty who went 3 for 4, with a run, and 4 RBI’s, while Madison Ford went 2 for 4 with a run, and 4 RBI’s. Go Panthers! #pawpower.
Last night the varsity baseball team traveled to Ellicottville and won 12-5. Mario Pascucci earned his first varsity win, going 4 innings with 10 strikeouts, and adding two hits. Maxwell Yehl added 2 hits as well, Ryan Stillman doubled, and Luke Petryszak contributed the big blast with a 3 run home run to account for three of his 5 RBIs on the night. Portville hosts Salamanca tonight. |
