A reminder to all music students who sold pizzas – Pizza Pick- Up is TODAY in the Elementary Cafeteria between 2:30 and 5:00.

 

Any 10th or 11th grade students interested in Environmental Science, Conservation or starting your own business after high school, please see Mrs. Pascucci TODAY.

 

The Student Council in conjunction with the American Red Cross is hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 22nd from 8AM to 2PM in the High School Gym.  Anyone age 16 and older is eligible to donate.  Please see Mrs. Welty to get the proper paperwork and get signed up.  They are bringing extra staff since our last two drives have been so successful.  There is an urgent need for blood and this is a perfect opportunity for you to do a good deed and help save lives.  Please consider donating!

 

TOMORROW is St. Patrick’s Day.  Don’t forget to wear GREEN !  To coincide with the festivities, the Senior Class will be sponsoring a HAT DAY tomorrow.   as well.  Maybe you will sport a leprechaun hat, a set of shamrock ears, a green bonnet, or just a regular baseball cap.  No matter what you decide to wear on your head will cost you $1.  Seniors will come around in the morning to first period classes to collect money and give those participating a hat ticket. Days like this are best when the majority of students and staff participate!

 

Attention Juniors & Seniors, your PROM is on Saturday, June 4th at Bartlett Country Club. Listen to the announcements as we will be having a meeting sometime soon to select a theme and to start working on the decorations for those that are interested in helping. 

 

 Students who are interested in taking a Summer Driver Ed Program – please stop by the Guidance Office to sign up soon or receive more information. 

 

Don’t forget to sign up for Bowling at Good Times that will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd.   See Mr. Mitchell.

 

Also, Chess Club is meeting every other Thursday from 2:45 – 4:30.   See Mr. Steighner today for more details!

 

Another NEW AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM FOR students in grade 7th – 12th IS OPEN SWIM.  This will be on March 22nd after school from 2:45-4:00. Please see Miss Stayer for any questions and to sign-up!

Attention to anyone in 7-12 that is interested in playing varsity golf this spring... there will be a mandatory meeting tomorrow in Mr. McIntosh's room, right after dismissal. Please make arrangements to stay after school. 

The Bird Busters travelled to Cuba yesterday which ended in another close match. Cuba 178 and Portville 170. Scores continue to climb every week! Top 8 shooters were:

After a league and sectional championship, the Lady Panthers were rewarded well by league coaches.  Named the CCAA Central Player of the Year was Senior Point Guard Mallory Welty, while Senior Guard Mia Welty and Sophomore Center Lilly Bentley were recognized as 1st team all-stars.  This is the first time that 3 players from Portville earned 1st team status.  Junior guard Teagan Kosinski was named an honorable mention player as well.  Not only were the Lady Panthers recognized for their skill set, the league took notice of their character and class and selected them as the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award. Mia was chosen as the Individual league representative. Congratulations to each of these athletes and to the entire team for such a wonderful season!

 

Now for a special announcement….The Olean Arrows 14U hockey team has made it into the State Tournament which is sending them this weekend to Amherst.  We would like to wish best of luck to the following PCS students……….. Brock Gagliardo, Cohen Burton, Logan Ziegler and Dylan Chudy.
