TODAY IS…Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022                                                        It is a “ D “  Day

 Today is the first day in a very long time that PCS students and staff are able to experience a mask free day!  We are not required to wear masks but everyone has the option and still may wear masks if they wish.  Again, you have options.  Masks will be available in your 1st Period classrooms.  As always, Please… Be Kind, Be Safe and Stay Healthy!

 Do you have some time to spare?  This after-school event will be right up your alley!!

Let's go bowling at Good Times on Tuesday, March 22nd. Along with two games and shoe rental, you'll enjoy pizza and a drink!!Don't delay, sign up today outside of Mr. Mitchell's room!

 

Do you enjoy Nerf wars with friends?  Listen carefully….Next Thursday, March 10th from 3-5 pm, PCS will be offering an epic, Nerf battle for any student in grades 7-12.  This is a team competition!  You must have a team of five to participate. Teams can be mixed by grade level and may include one teacher!   The signup sheet, participation waiver, and general rules are located outside of Ms. Judy Maxson’s classroom.  Sign up ASAP.  This event is limited to 8 teams and fun prizes will be awarded to the winners.

 

 Tuesday March 8TH is tubing at Holiday Valley for interested students.  The bus will leave at 2:45, and students will return to the school around 7:30pm.  Pizza will be provided.  Permission slips are outside of Mrs. Smith’s room, 203.  Spots are limited, and are first come first served, so return your permission slips to Mrs. Morella or Mrs. Smith as soon as possible.

 

 "Attention all students looking for a chance for community service or an opportunity to raise money for college. The Portville College Scholarship phone-a-thon will be held this weekend, Friday March 4th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday March 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. you may sign up and work as little as 1 hour or as many hours as you would like. All hours go toward community service and earning money toward a college scholarship. Interested student should sign up in Mrs Smith's room, the senior lounge, or your social studies class." 

 

The SPCA visit is happening this Saturday, March 5th.  Please note:  There are NO more spots available.  If you wanted to go but did not return your consent form or had other commitments, we are hoping to have another SPCA visit in late March.  Those who have returned their consent form and are planning to go, please report to the bus circle by 11:30, this Saturday.  We will depart at 11:45.  Our return time is scheduled to be 3:15pm.


 Also, everyone, this week, we are collecting donations for the animals of the SPCA.  There will be a donation box in Mrs. Smith and Ms. Judy Maxson’s room.  Ideas for donations include:   collars, blankets, toys, unopened food, etc.    If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Smith or Ms. Judy Maxson.

 

REMINDER …There will be a spectator bus for the Girls Basketball playoff game at Jamestown Community College tomorrow ONLY IF THERE ARE ENOUGH SIGNUPS. The game is at 8PM versus Silver Creek.  This is a semifinal game and the Lady Panthers could really use same support they have been getting at all of the home games!  There is a sign-up sheet in the main office.  Please stop down and sign-up as soon as possible so we know if we have enough to take a bus.  The payment of $5 to purchase your ticket is due to the main office by 10AM tomorrow morning. The bus will leave for Jamestown at 6:30PM from the entrance by the gym and should return around 10:30PM.  Please wear maroon in support of Panther Pride!

 

There will be a brief meeting TODAY right after school in the Lecture Hall for any current 6th-11th grader interested in playing modified or varsity football in the Fall. If you intend on playing but cannot make the meeting, see Coach Brooks to sign up. We will also be revealing a sneak-peek of the upcoming Fall game schedule.

 

Attention students interested in JV Baseball – there will be a meeting after school in the Lecture Hall this Friday. 

 

Attention all girls in grades 7-12 interested in trying out for softball this season there will be open gym TONIGHT from 5:30-7:00pm. Any questions see coach Torrey.

 

Track and field sign-ups are still outside of Coach Stayer’s or Coach Burlingame’s classrooms for those 9th-12th interested students. First practice will be March 14th.

 

It’s back! Throwing, jumping and running wild across the nation. Trackamania is coming! Modified trackamaniacs sign-up today at one of the two convenient locations, outside Miss Giardini’s and Mr. Mitchell’s rooms. Trackamania twenty twenty two, all that is missing is you!

 

 

After 2 years, Portville Bird Buster finally had their first meet at home against Cuba-Rushford lastnight. Although they came up 8 birds short, with Cuba topping them 168-160, everyone gave their all and put up some great scores. Top 8 shooters were:
