Good Morning Portville Panthers!

TODAY IS…Thursday, February 17th, 2022

It is a “ B ”  Day

 

The Senior Class sponsored HAT DAY is tomorrow.  Cost is $1. Seniors will come around in the morning to first period classes to collect money and give those participating a ticket.

 

There will be another BOARD GAMES after school program in the high school library on Monday, February, 28th. The sign-up sheet is located in Mrs. Luther's office.  There will be a raffle for prizes & snacks available!! Don't forget to sign up!!  

 

Are you an animal lover?  Do you want to give some lovin’ to a stray, abandoned, or neglected cat or dog?    On Saturday, March 5th, from noon-3pm, PCS is offering a SPCA shelter visit.  This opportunity is for any student, in grades 7-12 who is interested in volunteering for a few hours.  The bus will depart from the bus circle at 11:45 and return by 3:15.  The signup sheet is located outside of Ms. Judy Maxson’s room #202.   In order to reserve a spot on the bus, you will need to sign up as well as return the SPCA volunteer waiver form.  This waiver is also located outside of Ms. Maxson’s room.  Waivers should be read and signed by your parent or guardian and returned to either Ms. Maxson or Ms. Smith asap.  There are only 20 spots available, so hurry up and get that waiver signed!

 

Reminder to students.  There is late busses running Monday thru Thursday for those that need a ride home from staying after school for Study Center, Detentions, Clubs, and After School Programs.  Be sure to sign up in the main office immediately after school on those days if you need a ride.  The bus departs the school at 4 pm.

 

Students – On February 22nd – there will be the ICE SKATING after school trip.  If interested, please sign up in the Main Office and grab a permission slip to return.  

 

From the PCS SPORTS World…

Spring sports physicals are on February 23rd.  Please sign up in the nurse's office before the 23rd. 

 

The Lady Panthers concluded the regular season with a 53-32 victory over Section 5 powerhouse Wellsville last night. They improved to 17 and 3 overall. Mallory Welty scored a career-high 30 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Lilly Bentley had 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Mia Welty contributed 6 assists and 3 steals while Ava Haynes played fabulous defense and had 10 boards. The highlight of the night was Teagan Kosinski’s reverse layup! Once again, thank you to all the students who showed up to cheer us on!! 

 

 

Both 7th and 8th grade modified boys basketball concluded their seasons yesterday with wins over Allegany.  Great season guys!  Coach will be in touch on teams about the end of the season get together and turning in your jerseys.  Thank you for your hard work.
