Attention grades 7-12.  Looking for something to do after school?  Look no further, Culinary Club is here!  Join Mrs. Bantleman and Mr. Mitchell every Wednesday after school to sharpen your culinary skills!  Space is limited so be sure to sign-up outside Mr. Mitchell’s room as soon as possible. The first meeting is Wednesday, February 9th 2:30-4:00. Transportation is available. We will be doing Mission Impastable- homemade fresh pasta with a homemade red sauce and meatballs. Yum, Yum in the Tum, Tum!


Students – Our Newest After School Activity will take place on Tuesday, February 8th with Ice Skating at the William O Smith Recreation Center from 3:00 to 5:00.  Bring a friend!  Spots will be limited, so make sure you sign up soon.  Sign ups are in the High School Main Office and you must also pick up a Permission Slip to complete in order to participate.

 

Winter Weekend, titled “Cupid Shuffle” will be held on Saturday, February 12th from 8 to 11pm.  Tickets are on sale until THURSDAY the 11th, so if you want presale tickets, you must purchase by that day. Plan accordingly and do not wait until the last minute. Cost is $12 per person in advance or $15 per person at the door and can be purchased in Mrs. Welty’s room. If you intend on bringing someone from a different school, you must pick up a permission form from the office to have their home district administrator sign and then bring it to Mrs. Welty. Once again, do NOT wait until the last minute. As a reminder, the dance is for students in grades 9th through 12th only and proper semi-formal attire is to be worn.

 

The Senior Class will be sponsoring a HAT DAY this FRIDAY at a cost of $1. Seniors will come around in the morning to first period classes to collect money and give those participating a ticket. To coincide with the HAT DAY and the fact that the Boys Varsity Basketball team has a home game, the day is also designated as JERSEY DAY.  Wear your favorite jerseys in support of the boys and come watch them play. JV starts at 6PM with the Varsity immediately following. 

 

Here is some PCS Sports News from the past few days….

The Portville 7th grade boys modified basketball lost a close one Friday against Olean 28-25.  Aiden Richardson led the way with 8 points.  Liam Taylor chipped in 6 points and Sabre Herne added 3.  The 8th grade boys lost to Olean 40 to 19.  Zach Greene led the way with 8 points.  Riley Horsley chipped in 6 points.  Jake Zeigler added 5 points.

The 8th grade boys beat Ellicottville on Saturday 34-19.  Jake Zeigler put in a strong effort in the paint with 17 points.  Zach Green added 7 points and Ty Kosinski added 6 with including a big shot from outside the arc. 

The 7th grade boys modified beat Allegany LASTNIGHT 37 to 10.  Aiden Richardson led the way offensively with 8 points.  Sabre Herne and Peyton Carter both added 6 points.  Colin German put in a strong defensive effort. 

 

The 8th grade boy also beat Allegany 34 to 28.  Zach Green led the way with 20 points.  Jake Zeigler contributed 13 points and did a great job on the boards.  Ty Kosinski did a great job handling the basketball.  Ian Chamberlin stepped up big time on the boards and on defense.   The 7th grade boys play tomorrow in Ellicotville.  The game starts at 5pm.
