Good Morning PCS Panthers…

The trip to Penn's Cave has been canceled . We plan to reschedule in spring 2024. 

 

The CHESS CLUB MEETS TODAY after school in Room 220.  If interested or have any questions, please see Mr. Steighner.   The Chess Club meets every other Thursday. 

 

“ Attention all students in Grades 7-12, do you love Halloween?  Do you like to be scared?  If so Portville School will be taking a trip to the Nightmare Hayrides in Ellicottville, Next Friday October 20th.  The bus will depart the school at 5:30 and return around 10pm.  Space is limited and seats will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.  To reserve your spot pick up a permission slip outside of Mrs. Smith’s room 203.  To enjoy the Nightmare Hayride, the Gothic Barn and the Haunted Wooden Maze, just return your slip to Mrs. Smith.”

 

Attention students in grades 7-12 there will be a beekeeping meeting on Tuesday, October 17th in Mr. Canfield’s room after school.  New members are always welcome!  This is an experience that you just don’t want to miss.  See Mr. Canfield if you have any questions.

 

Are you looking to build your leadership skills and learn more about investing and personal finance?  Then look no further!  Come to NvestNus, a Saint Bonaventure student-led club, that will prepare you for your future financial success.  Meetings will be held on Friday, at PCS, from 3-4pm.  This week’s topic is Income Taxes.  We hope to see you there!  Please see Mr. Swetland for additional details.

 

Have you ever been interested in piloting or working on a race drone? Here’s your chance. Rocket Drones are officially at PCS, and we are starting a race team. Our first meeting will be for any interested 9th - 12th grade students on Thursday October 19th during period X in the envisioneering center. Please sign up outside the envisioneering center and see Mr. Burlingame or Mr. Suain if you have any questions.

 

Anyone who signed up to go the Buffalo Sabres game on October 21st need to pick up a permission slip outside of Mrs. Sosnowski's room (201).  Have your parents sign it and return to Mrs. Sosnowski NO LATER THAN October 18th.

Now for your PCS Sports News:

The JV volleyball team defeated Falconer last night with a 3-0 sweep. 

Madison Baldwin led the Panthers with 14 service points and 12 aces. 

Leigha Stives added 9 aces and 6 kills and Marissa carls ran the offense with 14 assists and 3 aces. The team will travel to Dunkirk on Tuesday. 

 

 The Varsity Volleyball team defeated falconer  last night 25-6, 25-15, 25-10. 

Ava Haynes led the team with 15 kills, 12 digs while Lillian Bentley added 12 kills, 5 digs, Brielle fidurko 6 kills, emily Jordan added 10 aces and Adelyn Walker ran the offense with 33 assists, and served for 12 points. Max prep player of the match 

Mia Rhinehart served for 19 points with 5 aces & 20 digs. The panthers travel to Dunkirk on Tuesday.
