Good Morning PCS Panthers…

Band lessons today are:

Period 6A: : JH trumpets: Tristan, Atticus, Zack, Andrew, Leah, and Neveah

Period 7: JH Flutes: Kyla, Rex, Alicia, Peyton, and Sadie

Period 8: JH clarinets: Ella, Anna, MaciMae, Kiera,

Sofia, Briana, Madison, Marley, and Emily

 

A reminder to all music students – our group pictures are this week!  Get your concert clothes hung up and ready to bring in on Wednesday or Thursday!

 

A reminder to all Chorus officers- we have a meeting today after school and Wednesday after school from 2:30-3:30.  You need to attend ONLY ONE of the meetings!

 

The Spirit Week Wear for tomorrow is:  TEXAS TUESDAY – Get out your cowboy or cowgirl boots and flannels… - Remember to follow the dress code.

 

On Friday during the pep rally the Homecoming Court will be announced. Those students will be required to ride in the parade at 5PM.  At half-time of the football game, the 2023 King & Queen will be revealed.

 

Reminders regarding Homecoming:

#1:  If you intend on bringing someone from a different school, you must get a permission slip from the office for them to sign and return it to Mrs. Welty before Friday the 29th.

#2:  If you would like to bring a student that has already graduated high school, they must be a graduate of PCS.

 

Any girls in grades 9th through 12th interested in playing in the Powder Puff football game TONIGHT, please sign up on the bulletin board outside Mrs Welty's room.  The Junior vs Senior game is at 7PM and the Freshmen vs Sophomore game will begin afterwards.  Please come to the game and show support during this Homecoming Week! 

 

 

Students in grades 9-12:  Are you interested in manufacturing, business or healthcare and want to work with people in the field.  The Cattaraugus County Career Academies offer a great opportunity to gain skills and increase your knowledge.  Stop by Mrs. Pascucci’s office by Thursday, September 28, to find out more.  

 

Attention 7th and 8th Graders…

The Paw Print, Middle Grades Newspaper, will have our first meeting on Thursday, September 28th in Mrs. McMahon's room from 2:30-3:15.

We need photographers, artists, writers, researchers...there is something for everyone!   Can’t make the meeting, but still want to join?   Just send Mrs. McMahon a TEAMS CHAT or come see her in Room 143.

 

On Friday, Oct. 6th , we've planned a very cool adventure for 7-12 students. We're headed to Watkins Glen State Park to see the gorge & the falls, and then have lunch; after that, we'll head over to the Watkins Glen International Racetrack to preview some race car activity on the track! See Mr. Mitchell to sign-up and don't forget your permission slip. 

 

Attention 7-12 students: Would you like to explore America's ONLY underwater cavern; defeat Miner's Maze; and tour a Wildlife Park? We'll be traveling to PENN's Cave and Wildlife Park on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023. See Mr. Mitchell to sign up.

 

Any students in grades 7th through 12th wishing to be a member of the Student Council, applications are available in the office.  They are due back to Mrs. Welty by Wednesday, September 27th

 

Attention students in Grades 9 thru 12…The Homecoming dance will take place this Saturday, September 30th from 8 to 11PM.  Presale tickets will be sold until Thursday the 28th.  Cost is $12 per person and can be purchased from Mrs. Welty BEFORE or AFTER school and during PERIOD X.  Prices will increase to $15 per person if bought at the door.  This is a semi-formal dance so proper attire is required….NO JEANS and NO HATS.

 

Chess Club starts this Thursday. If interested, please sign up in Mr. Steighner's classroom! 

 

Now for your PCS Sports News:   

 The JV Football suffered defeat this past Saturday, falling to a tough Lake Shore team. Touchdowns were scored by Nick Carpenter and Chris Forney. PCR will take this opportunity to learn and grow before their next match up against Salamanca on 10/2.
