TODAY IS….February 8, 2019                                                                     It is an “C day”


A reminder that Mr. Backus’ classes will be back to the south gym starting today.  To Repeat, Mr. Backus’ Phys. Ed. classes will be back in the South Gym!


The National Honor Society will be selling candy grams before school and during lunch periods until Wednesday, February 13.  Regular candy grams will be available for $1, candy grams with candy will cost $2, and candy grams including a song and delivery from cupid will cost $3.


Attention all boys in grades 7-12 interested in playing modified, JV, or varsity baseball, signup outside of Mr. Matz's room, 205.


Spring Sports Physicals will be held on February 15th. Please sign up in the nurses office. If you are not sure if you need a physical please see Mrs. Kent or Mrs. Colligan. 


The Lady Panthers picked up two wins this week in league play over Silver Creek and Salamanca. Balanced scoring and aggressive defense have led to the success. Bryn Milne had doubles-doubles in both games, having a career-high of 16 points. Shayla Wilhelm also recorded a career-high of 12 against Silver Creek. Statistic leaders were:In Rebounds- Milne with 26, Syd Colligan & Mallory Welty with 14.  In Steals - Karly Welty with 8 & Sierra Keim with 7.  In Assists - Karly with 15 & Sydney with 7.  The Lady Panthers will host the Randolph Cardinals on Saturday with JV at 5pm and Varisty immediately following. Please come out and support the teams! 



The Portville Boys Varsity Basketball team won a tight ballgame against Gowanda, 55-51 Thursday night at home to finish with a league record of 2-8. Portville won the battle of the boards (35-34), and limited their turnovers to just 15 for the game. The turnover stat was crucial to the victory. Portville was led by Dalton Tobola's 24 points along with 10 rebounds and 6 steals. Noah Pullins had 12 points and 5 steals. Zayne Tarr scored 7 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Jarett Mathes made 6 his lucky number for the game with 6 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals. Nate Kloc scored 6 points along with 7 assists, 2 steals and a block. 

Portville will finish the regular season on Wednesday, February 13th, when they host Panama on Senior Night. Game time is 7:30PM, but please come early to honor our Seniors!
