Good Morning Portville Panthers!

 TODAY IS…Wednesday, September 28th, 2022

It is an “ E “  Day

Ok …..here we go – After-School Activities return starting next week… don’t forget to listen to announcements on what is being offered and check outside the Main Office for flyers of information.

So with that in mind… What do Culinary Club and Aerosmith have in common? They are back in the saddle again! You heard it correctly, Culinary Club is back and open to grades 7-12! Our first dish will be chicken parmesan with fresh pasta on Monday, October 3rd. Sign up outside Mr. Mitchell’s room today, space is limited.

For any junior interested in taking the PSAT, sign-ups are being held in the guidance office between now and Oct 7th.  In order to sign up, you will need $18 (exact amount in cash or check).

Would you like to visit waterfalls, a volcano, and go adventuring in a rain forest? Think about traveling with the International Club to Costa Rica in 2024. Open to current 8th -11th graders, this trip will be the experience of a lifetime. Join International Club or talk to Ms. Nolder

Reminder to all juniors and seniors:  St. John Fisher College will be in Guidance at 9am and SUNY Canton will be here at 10:15am.  An announcement will be made when the college reps are ready for students.

Any student in grades 7th through 12th who would like to be a member of the PCS Student Council, applications are in the HS Main Office.  They are due back to Mrs. Welty by Friday, September 30th

Homecoming 2022 is fast approaching!  The theme this year is "Hollywood."  The dance will take place on Saturday, October 8th from 8pm until 11pm.  Cost is $12 per person and can be purchased in Mrs. Welty's room (#230) before and after school, as well as during periods 5th & 6th.  Prices will increase to $15 per person if bought at the door.  Presale tickets will be sold until Thursday the 6th.  This is a semi-formal dance so proper attire is required.  Girls wear dresses and boys wear dress-pants with a collared shirt and shoes......NO JEANS, NO SNEAKERS, AND NO HATS.

Some important notes regarding Homecoming:

#1:  Only grades 9th through 12th are permitted to attend.

#2:  If you intend on bringing someone from a different school, you must get a permission slip from the main office for them to sign and return it to Mrs. Welty BEFORE Friday the 7th.

#3:  If you would like to bring a student that has already graduated high school, they must be a graduate of PCS.
