TODAY IS….October 23, 2018                                                   It is a “D day”

 

In recognition of College Application Week, PCS is having “A Wear your Favorite College Gear Day” this Friday, October 26th.  Students in grades 7-12, wear your favorite college Tee’s and sweatshirts on Friday!

 

Students – are you in need of Community Hours or just want to volunteer your time and help PCS ?   Then we need you!   Student help is needed for the Arts, Crafts, and Antique Show next Friday Nov, 2nd thru Sunday Nov. 4th.  We need you to sign up this week please!  Stop in and see Mrs. Bell in the HS library to inquire and sign up.  Also, All students can Help by spreading the word of the upcoming Arts & Craft Show.  Please tell your parents and family, and grab a friend to come yourself.  Over 100 vendors to buy various crafts from, lots of good food to enjoy, and of course, the Great Basket Raffle in the Gym.  Don’t Miss it.  There is something for everyone!

 

TODAY is the last day to turn in Junior Class fundraising forms.  Please get them to Mrs. Pinney or Mr. Brennan.  Also be sure that the forms are all filled out.”

 

Attention All Ski Club members….All forms and money should be turned into Mr. Carrier no later than October 26.

 

LAST REMINDER TO Winter Athletes: Physicals will be on TOMORROW. 

 

Anyone interested in Varsity Wrestling please sign up outside coach Milne’s room.Room  226. Meeting will be very soon with first practice starting November 5th. If you have any questions please see Coach Milne.

 

Any boys interested in trying out for JV or Varsity Basketball this winter ..signup sheets have been posted outside of Coach Torrey’s room.

 

Any 7th or 8th grader looking to try out for JV Basketball…please see Mrs. Colligan

 

Any girls interested in playing Lady Panther basketball…. Sign up outside of Coach Welty’s Room.  If you are in junior high wishing to try out for JV, see Mrs. Colligan.

 

If we can get enough students to sign-up, we will be taking a Spectator Bus to the girls soccer semifinal game tonight.   The game is at 7PM in Eden and the bus will leave at 5PM.  Cost is $7, which covers the bus ride and your ticket into the game.  If you plan on attending, please go to the main office and sign-up. 

 

The Portville Football team will play Franklinville/Ellicottville this Thursday at Catt-LV in the C bowl championship. Game time starts at 6pm. Sign up in the office for the spectator bus for the Football Game.  So far, we do not have enough to take a bus.  Sign up today.

 

The JV Volleyball team defeated Southwestern last evening scoring 23-25, 25-16, 25-12. Tori Unverdorben had 10 aces, 15 digs and 3 kills. Taylor Beck added 8 assists and 5 kills, Tori Beck had 8 digs while Natalie Maurer added 5 kills and 2 aces. Samantha Proctor served for 10 points and had 2 kills, and Jill Stebbins served for 11 points and added 8 assists. The team finished the season with a 15-2 record. Great job ladies!! 

The Lady Panther volleyball team defeated southwestern in 3 sets, 25-14, 25-11 & 25-7.  Beth Miller had 17 kills & 5 aces, Sierra Keim 7 kills, 9 digs, Kylie Blessing 32 assist & 3 aces, Laura Wilhelm 7 kills, 1 block, Ericka Carlson 13 digs, 4 aces, Sydney Colligan served for 12 points with 2 aces.   The Lady Panthers are now 17 & 0 and will host their first playoff match on Friday at 6:00.
