Reminder to students and staff….The Student Council in conjunction with the American Red Cross is hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, November 2nd from 8AM to 2PM in the High School Gym.  Anyone age 16 and older is eligible to donate.  Please see Mrs. Welty to get the proper paperwork and get signed up.  There is an urgent need for blood and this is a perfect opportunity for you to do a good deed and help save lives.  Please consider donating!

Now for some news for the PCS Sports World…

The girls varsity soccer team advanced to the sectional semi finals with a win over Chautauqua Lake Friday night. Mallory Welty and Teagan Kosinski each scored a goal, and Mia Welty assisted on both. Mackenzie Harmon had three saves to preserve the shut out in goal. The ladies, 16-1 on the season, play at 5 PM tomorrow in Dunkirk versus Frewsburg. A win will send them to the sectional finals on Saturday.

 

 

Congratulations to the girls swim team on winning 3rd place at the CCAA D1 Championships last Saturday with a point total of 314. In the 200 free Emmalie Gehm won 3rd in her heat and 9th overall with a best time of 2:27. Gehm was also a top ten finalist in the 100 fly with best time of 1:19. Molly Marshall in the 100 fly won 1st in her heat and 6th overall with a best time of 1:16. In the 50 free Megan Pagett won 3rd in her heat and 8th overall with a best time of 28 seconds. In the 100 free Pagett also won 1st in her heat and 8th overall with a best time of 1:04. In the 200 Medley Relay Gehm and Marshall helped the team win 8th overall with a time of 2:16. Pagett and Marshall teamed up in the 400 free relay to win 7th overall with a best time of 4:35. And finally in the 200 free relay all the portville girls teamed up to win the team 6th overall with another best time of 1:59. Overall for their individuals Gehm won 8 points for the team, Marshall won 9, and Pagett won 10. The girls swam a great meet and will be wished the best of luck when they head out to their Class meet this Wednesday.
