Reminder to students – Guidance is not accepting Schedule Changes yet UNLESS you have a period with no class scheduled then you may stop by Guidance.     Requests for schedule changes can be submitted starting next Monday, September 13th.  Again, you can go to Guidance this week only if you are missing a class period. 

 

The HS library will be closed Periods 4 and 8 until further notice.

 

Attention Junior High Chorus members…we will meet in the library today!

 

Any Senior that has not picked up your laptop please go to the library after announcements.

 

Mr. Welty wants to remind students that  “Crop Tops” are not permitted in school.  If we see your stomach showing, you will be sent home to change or asked to put something over your top. 

 

Class Officer applications are on the counter in the high school main office for any freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior interested in becoming a President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Treasurer. They are due back to the office by Friday, September 17th. 

 

Student Council will have a meeting during Period X in the Library. Come with homecoming theme ideas.

 

Attention academic scholars, smart kids & trivia fans! Here is the Academic Club’s question of the day:   What war ended on November 11, 1918?  (World War I)

If you’re a Jeopardy master or an up and coming scholar who knows a thing or two, show off your skills and get credit for your knowledge. The Academic Club is looking for new recruits! 

The Academic Club lets you flex your mental muscles in the areas of Literature, Science, Math, History, Current Events, Trivia, and more.  Stop in the main office to sign up before  September 17th . Spaces are limited, so sign up soon. Practices will be held weekly on Tuesday or Thursday. Late bus transportation will be available if needed…

 

News from Volleyball that we missed yesterday… On Tuesday night, the JV volleyball team swept Fredonia 3-0.  Adriana Ensell led the team with 6 kills, 5 aces and 3 digs, Emilie Edick added 9 aces, while Addie walker had 7 aces, 3 assists and 2 kills. Ali Haynes contributed 4 aces and 4 digs and Hanna Wysocki 7 aces and 4 assists. The Panthers travel to Dunkirk Thursday with a 5:00 start time for JV. 

 

The Lady Panther Volleyball team Opened the season at home Tuesday night against Fredonia with a 3-0 sweep 25-16, 25-11 & 25-10.  Kylie Blessing led the offense with 22 assists, and 6 aces while Tori Unverdorben added 5 aces, 5 kills and 9 digs, Lillian Bentley with 4 kills and the Max Prep player of the match Olivia Cook had 9 kills and 5 aces.   The lady Panthers travel to Dunkirk Thursday for a 6:30 start time. 

 

The girls varsity soccer team were off to a 2–1 early season record. After a victory over Arkport Canaseraga and a difficult loss to a tough Fillmore team in the Labor Day tournament, the Lady Panthers won their first league competition against Salamanca Tuesday night. Throughout the first three games, Mia Welty and Courtney Lyle have scored three goals. Mattie Fries, Teagan Kosinski, and Meghan Lyle have scored twice. Mallory Welty has tallied one goal, and leads the team with four assists. Kendall Artlip has two assists, while Mia and Teagan each have one.
