Reminder to all students in current grades 8-11, there are spaces available on the International Club trip to Europe. IF you are interested, contact Ms.  Nolder on teams for details. 

 

Modified and Varsity Football sign-ups are posted on the North Gym locker room door by Mr. Brooks’ office. Varsity starts practice March 22nd and Modified will start a week later on the 29th. See Mr. Brooks with any questions.

 

Those students that are in Physics Club are to report to Mr. Stives room TODAY  for a group photograph.  The photo will be taken at 1:45PM ……so don’t be late! 

 

Attention students ages 13 thru 16 that are interested in the Portville Junior – Senior League – Please note there will be Sign-Ups on Thursday, March 25th from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the PCS Jean Feely Outdorr Classroom located in the Elementary Parking lot.  For more information, please refer to the Flyer posted outside the Main Office. 

 

The JV Boys basketball team improved to 5-2 Tuesday night with a 59-50 win over visiting Gowanda. Gowanda got out to an early lead, but the Panthers hung tough and went on to record the victory.

 

For Portville, Ethan Obergfell had a game high 20 points along with 3 steals. Aiden DeFazio scored 15 points while handing out 5 assists. Ben Isaman scored 9 points, coming up just shy of a double-double as he pulled down 11 rebounds. Troy VanSickle was also tough on the boards with 10 rebounds. Great job boys!

 

 

The Portville Varsity Basketball team won its third straight game last night defeating the Gowanda Panthers at home. Portville and Gowanda had a hard fought first quarter Tuesday night with Portville leading by 1 after the period. From then on, Portville was able to extend it's lead and slowly pull away for a 57-36 CCAA Division I league victory. With the win, Portville moved to 5-3 in league play, and 6-4 overall.

 

Portville was led by Maxx Yehl who had another strong outing with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. Luke Petruzzi had 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Joe Long had the second double-double on the team with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals for good measure. Kyle Mathes added 4 steals and 3 assists to Portville's cause. Portville Basketball also honored its seniors Joe Long, Hunter Griffin, Alex Wenke, Xavier Kenjockety, Jayden Lassiter, and statistician Matt Snyder last night. Portville Basketball would like to thank all of you for your hard work, dedication, and contributions to all things Portville. All of you represent Portville with Pride and Integrity on and off the court. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Portville returns to action on Thursday, March 18th, when they travel to Chautauqua Lake. Game time is 7:30PM. GO PANTHERS!
