TODAY IS….February 11, 2020                             It is a “C day”

 

Spring Sport Physicals are this Thursday, Feb 13th. Please sign up in the nurses office if you are in need of a physical.

 

Attention Seniors – if you worked the Art and Antique Show in the past and would like to be considered for College Scholarship money – please see Mrs. Baker in the High School Main Office for an application. 

 

Can you Smell the SMENCILS???  If you would like to purchase a SMENCIL – stop by the Study Hall Room 104.  The cost is $2.00 and this benefits our Theatre Boosters. 

 

The National Honor Society is selling Candygrams! For a dollar, send a message to your Valentine, 3 dollars gets candy and a message, and five dollars gets candy, a message, and a sweet serenade from our crew of Cupids! Buy yours outside of the Pause in the morning or during lunch periods!

 

Any 9th-12th grader interested in outdoor track and field for this coming spring, please sign up outside of the health classroom (Miss Stayer’s classroom).

 

The Portville Boys Varsity Basketball team improved  to 9-8 on the season defeating Gowanda 64-42 on the road last night. Portville got off to a slow start only leading Gowanda by one 21-20 at the half. However a 26 point third quarter would be enough to secure the victory for PCS. Leading the way offensively for Portville was POG Zayne Tarr who scored 22 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and secured 5 steals. Hunter Griffin added 16 points, and six rebobunds, while Dalton Tobola chipped in 10 points, and 5 steals, and Mike Stillman dished out  5 assists to help the Panthers cause. Come watch as Portville next faces Falconer home Thursday in the Panther Pitt for Senior Night. Game time is 7:30 and we will recognize all 7 seniors prior to the game. GO PANTHERS!!

 

It was a game that was slowed considerably by the officials calling 38 total fouls (15 on Portville, and 23 on Gowanda), but the Portville JV boys were able to pick up their 14th win of the season by a 76-42 score.

The scoring was spread out up and down the score sheet with Nate Petryszak leading the way with 17 points,11 rebounds, and 5 steals. Luke Petruzzi added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and also had 5 steals. Luke Petryszak had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Todd Stone and Ben Isaman each scored 8 points. Stone added 9 rebounds, while Isaman had 5.
