The Portville Lady Panthers season was brought to a close last night at the hands of the Chautauqua-Lake Thunderbirds 7 to 3 in the Section VI Class C Semifinals. PCS stuck first in the bottom of the first inning by way of a Teagan Kosinski single who was sac bunted in by Mattison Foster. Portville led 1-0 until Chautauqua-Lake answered back scoring a run in the bottom of the second to knot the score at 1-1. The T-Birds had a big inning scoring 5 runs in the top of the 4th and the Panthers answered back scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the frame. Foster would reach base and be drove in by Mattison Ford, and then a Bella Morales triple would score Ford making the score 6-3. Chat-Lake tacked on an insurance run in the 7th and unfortunately the lady panthers would get no closer. Portville fought hard the entire game including pitcher Alisha Dickerson who tossed 8 strikeouts, 2 walks, and scattered 9 hits for PCS. Portville Closes the season 14-5 overall, and 12-0 in league. Portville Softball would like to thank all the players (especially seniors Kelsey Bradford, Sam Steadman, Teagan Kosinski, Myha Wilson, & Alisha Dickerson) for their time and and dedication to the program. Special thank you to all of our fans, athletic trainer Matt Gnan, score keepers Inga Welty & Kara Kosinski, athletic director Beth Colligan, and assistant coaches Paige Senear, Cam Lott, and Jason Luther for your support all season long. As always GO PANTHERS!!

During the latest CCAA track meet she placed 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.94, having to go down to the thousandths of a second for the results. She also placed 5th in the 100 hurdles and was a part of the winning 1600 meter relay team. She has hit provisional times for all three of her events.

Next we have Golf:

Andrew Steighner- Andrew has golfed most of the season as our number one or two golfer. He has consistently improved throughout the season. He was chosen to represent Portville at the Sectional Qualifier and just missed the cut by a few strokes. Great job Andrew!

Joe Randolph-Joey was also selected to play at the sectional qualifier. Although, he missed the cut, he bounced back and shot his two lowest rounds of the season right at the end. Nice job Joey!

Garrett Reynolds-Garrett shot his low round of the season at Birch Run in Allegany, which helped us beat Salamanca. Way to go Garrett!

Congratulations to all of these athletes, please come see me today for your t-shirt and certificate.

On Tuesday we will announce softball and baseball.
