Good Morning and Portville Panthers!

Tomorrow’s Spirit Theme is SPORTS DAY – Dress in your favorite jersey or in the gear of your favorite sport.  As always, students must follow the school dress code. 

 

Do you like the outdoors??? Do you like to hike??  Please come and join Mrs. Bantelman and Mrs. VanCuran for a hike and dinner up at Pfeiffer nature center next Wednesday May 17th. We will leave the school at 3:30 and return at 5:30 PM. Please see Mrs. Bantelman for a permission slip and more information. 

 

Attention all students …Any student hoping to help out with the Mike McGreevy Adopt a Highway program, sign up outside the main office. This is an easy and fun way to help keep our community beautiful. See Ms Nolder for details.

 

Reminder that Portville will be taking students to a Buffalo Bison’s game on Friday, June 2nd.  You can enjoy some food, Baseball, and fireworks. Please sign up outside of Mrs Morella’s room, 201, by May 19th and return the permission slip as soon as possible.

 

Now for our PCS Spring Sports News:

Any boys in grades 8-11 that are interested in playing Boys Volleyball next Winter season there will be a short interest meeting this Friday May 19th  right after school in the lecture hall.  If you cannot attend please let Mrs. Colligan know.  We need accurate numbers of who will be interested in playing. 

 

Any girls in grades 7-11 that are interested in participating in Football cheer, please sign up by Mrs. Colligan's office. 

 

The Portville Lady Panthers improved to 12-4 picking up a pair of wins this weekend. On Friday they traveled to West Valley defeating the Wild Cats 10-1 and then came home to defeat North Collins 13-5 in the Panther Pit on Saturday. Portville closes the regular season today with Senior Night against Catt-LV. Please join us in recognizing seniors Kelsey Bradford, Sam Steadman, Myha Wilson, Alisha Dickerson, and Teagan Kosinski. Senior night festivities will begin at 4:15 and game time is 5:00pm. GO PANTHERS!!

 

Congratulations to the athletes that competed in Salamanca at the annual Super 8 track meet this evening. Many athletes came home with personal records and sectional qualifying times!

 The girls 4x800 relay (Ava Haynes, Addison Isaman, Natalie Isaman, and Samantha Bray) placed 6th 

The boys 4x800 relay (Riley Horsley, Michael Fahnestock, Ben Isaman, and Simon Szymanski) placed 7th 

 The girls 4x100 relay (Olivia Dean, Jessica Daley, Julia Wyant, and Jenna Wyant) placed 3rd 

 The boys 4x400 relay (Parker Dornan, Ben Isaman, Simon Szymanski, and Bryan Randolph) placed 3rd 

 Jenna Wyant placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash 

 Ava Haynes placed 2nd in the 800 meter run 

 Brady German placed 5th in the 800 meter run 

 Julia Wyant placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash 

 Bryan Randolph placed 3rd in the high jump 

 And Samantha Bray placed 7th in the 3000 meter run
