Good Morning and Portville Panthers!

 TODAY is Wednesday, May 10th, 2023

It is a “ C “  Day

 

Attention Seniors… Mrs. Brooks, our cafeteria manager would like to know what your favorite meals are so she can put them on the menu before you leave PCS.  Please jot it down and drop it off to a cashier sometime next week, and she will work them into her menu.

 

Applications are still available for our PCS Summer recreation program. Applicants should be at least 16 years of age and may require life guard certification. Applications can be picked up and should be dropped off in the elementary office no later than May 12th .

 

Don't miss the opportunity to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie this Friday, May 12th. The bus leaves from school at 3:00PM; a drink and a popcorn are included.   Sign-up and grab a permission slip from Mr. Steighner.

 

Reminder to students interested in going on the after-school trip to Urban Air Adventure Park must sign up with Mr. Mitchell and pick up a permission slip & waiver! There are trampolines, a warrior course, and battle beams- also enjoy laser tag, spin zone bumper cars, a ropes course and more! The date is Monday, 5/15; the bus will leave from school at 2:45PM. Pizza and a drink will be provided. 

 

Reminder that Portville will be taking students to a Buffalo Bison’s game on Friday, June 2nd.  You can enjoy some food, Baseball, and fireworks. Please sign up outside of Mrs Morella’s room, 201, by May 19th and return the permission slip as soon as possible.

 

Mrs. Baker and Mrs. VanCuren are STILL looking for artists!   If you artistic and would like to win some CASH… please  consider submitting an art piece that could be used for next year’s Calendar cover or on the back.  It can be done by hand or on the computer.  See them for details – deadline is June 1st.

 

  

Now for our PCS Spring Sports News:

 

 The Portville Lady Panthers improved to 9 and 4 defeating Salamanca last night in the Panther Pit. Alisha Dickerson and Bella Morales combined for the win in the circle. Alexa Schoonover earned the “Golden Glove” status for her solid performance at second base. “Queen of the Plate” went to Teagan Kosinski who went 3 for 4, with a single, a double, a triple, 1 RBI, and 3 runs. Mattison Foster chipped in going 3 for 4, with 2 RBI’s, and 3 runs, Sam Steadman added a double, 2 RBI’s, 2 runs, and Kelsey Bradford doubled, scored 2 runs, and drove in 3 runs. Portville next travels to North Collins Thursday May 11th. Game time is 5:00pm. GO PANTHERS!!

 

Last evening the Varsity track teams had their first dual losses against Allegany-Limestone. Even though they lost, both teams brought home many top scorers. Top scoring athletes included: Olivia Dean, Jenna Wyant, Jessica Daley, Aryanna Hatch, Anna Keeley, Ava Haynes, Julia Wyant, Samantha Bray, Emma Rhinehart, Airiana Whittaker, Hali Brundage, Simon Szymanski, Ben Isaman, Michael Fahnestock, Riley Horsley, Darren Spring, Parker Dornan, and Chris Austin.
