TODAY IS….April 10, 2019                                It is a “D day”


All of Mrs. Welty’s algebra classes are to meet in her computer lab, room #207, today. 


REMINDER TO Seniors: The FINAL payment for the senior trip is due by Friday. If your trip is not paid in full, you will not be able to go on the trip.


Attention all students, teachers and staff….There is NOW a Barrel in the high school office for the Food Drive Blitz sponsored by the Westons Mills Group Home.  This is TO BENEFIT The Portville Food Pantry.  Donations of Non Perishable Food Items may be dropped off all week.  Please make a difference and donate!


Students – The Cattaraugus County Summer Youth Employment Program is underway.  Stop in the main office if you are interested in applying or need more information about this job opportunity.  Students age 14 through 20 can apply. 


Students – This Friday is the Finger Scan for those students that need it.  Please make sure you pick up an application in the Main Office and go to the Cafeteria during Period X.  The application must be signed by a parent before they can do the Finger Scan.


The Agenda Cover Contest is still going on.  If you would like to take a chance on winning a cash prize – please consider turning in your design for next year’s Student Agenda Handbook to the Office soon.  You can do more than one cover design to submit.


Pre-Sale Tickets for this week’s Drama Club Musical “Disney’s Beauty & the Beast Jr.” are on still sale in the Main Office.  The Play is THIS WEEKEND:  Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm.


Art Society is cancelled this week.

Last night the varsity baseball team opened up their season with an 18 to 1 win at Oswayo Valley. Nathan Kloc earned the win on the mound, Nathan Petryszak pitched 3 solid innings in relief. POG Brandon Murray had 3 hits and 4 RBIs. Dom Pascucci (3 RBIs), Jarett Mathes, and Austin Babb recorded their first varsity hits, and Maxwell Yehl doubled. Portville heads to Salamanca today.


Portville Varsity Softball dropped a 10-9 decision to the Otto-Eldred Terrors last night. The Panthers battled their way back from an 8-1 deficit scoring 8 runs to take their first lead of the game in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the inning the Terrors answered back scoring 2 runs to secure the victory. Leading the way offensively for PCS was Sierra Keim who went 2-3 with a home run, a double, 3 RBI’s, and 2 runs scored, while Bryn Milne went 2-4 with two singles, 1 run, 1 RBI, and 1 stolen base. Portville will travel to Allegany-Limestone this Friday to open up league play. Game time is 4:30. GO PANTHERS!!
